This Privacy Policy explains how GLASSTEC collects and uses personal data when you visit glasstec.net, open a trade account, place an order, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter. Our shop serves business customers only; the personal data we handle is mainly that of contact persons at our customers, suppliers and prospects.
1. Who we are
The controller responsible for your personal data is GLASSTEC GLOBAL LIMITED, registered in England and Wales under company number 15479132, 149-153 Alcester Road, Moseley Exchange, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8JP, United Kingdom.
Orders are fulfilled by our group company GLASSTEC.CH Schweiz GmbH, Einhänge 10, 79618 Rheinfelden, Germany, which processes order and delivery data on our behalf. Our head office is located at Werkstrasse 14, 3428 Wiler b. Utzenstorf, Switzerland.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Who We share Data With
We share personal data only as far as necessary with:
- GLASSTEC.CH Schweiz GmbH (Germany) and our Swiss head office, for fulfilment, logistics and customer service;
- Payment providers: Revolut, WooPayments (Automattic / Stripe) and Kustom Checkout, which process payments partly as independent controllers under their own privacy policies;
- Carriers and freight forwarders, for delivery (name, address, phone);
- MailPoet (Automattic), to send our newsletter;
- Simple Analytics, for privacy-friendly website statistics;
- Our website hosting and email delivery providers Novatrend (Switzerland);
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us via the WhatsApp button; Meta then processes your data under its own privacy policy;
- Accountants, tax advisers, lawyers and authorities where required by law.
4. International Transfers
We operate in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the European Union, all of which recognise each other as providing adequate data protection. Some service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where this happens, we rely on adequacy decisions (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified) or on standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards.
5. Cookies and Statistics
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the shop to work (e.g. shopping cart, login, security, remembering your cookie choice). Other cookies are only set if you give your consent via our cookie banner, which you can change at any time via the cookie settings link on our website.
For website statistics we use Simple Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not collect personal data or track you across websites.
6. How Long We Keep Data
- Orders, invoices and accounting records: 6 years after the end of the financial year to which they relate, as required by law.
- Trade accounts: while your account is active; inactive accounts are deleted after 12 months without activity, except for records we must keep for accounting purposes.
- Enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they lead to an order.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Cookie consent records: 12 months.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing (including objecting to direct marketing at any time), to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To exercise your rights, email info@glasstec.net. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, the data protection authority of your country; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (edoeb.admin.ch). We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and regular backups.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
